Witherspoon-Jackson is a historically Black neighborhood in Princeton with a new historical designation fought for by community leaders and long-term residents Shirley Satterfield and Leighton Newlin. Through discussions with them, and a specific set of exercise: from taking photos of the neighborhood at night, designing an opening installation, physical mock-ups and wall sections allowed us to situate our thinking, build up layers, and ultimately move-in in order to design a satellite museum and community center.
